This course is designed to help students to feel more confident when having daily conversations by improving their sentence structure skills while significantly increasing their vocabulary, critical thinking and conversational skills. It is oriented to applying learning strategies to develop the four learning skills- listening, speaking, reading and writing - for intermediate beginner level. Its theoretical-practical nature promotes the usage of the language both written and oral on a basic level, learning its structure and pronunciation. The course content includes reading, writing, audiovisual, listening and speaking components, and uses cutting edge educational technologies.
English I course in Pre-Basic, learners access and make use of oral and written information needed for daily communication through a variety of media and text types. Oral and written texts contain simple vocabulary and basic syntactic structures appropriate for elementary and false beginner (low A1) learners.
This course is for the learner who knows how to read in English and has a very basic vocabulary. It consists of ten topic-based units. In the course the learner will be exposed to language needed for daily communication. The learner will listen to and practice short authentic dialogues in different contexts, such as restaurants, offices and stores; and will read and comprehend a variety of short ads, e-mails, articles and stories. The learner will also learn and practice basic grammatical functions.
